At Downbelow, our newest boat captain Jam refreshes his dive skills with the possibility Go PRO!? Well, he won’t find better advice than from his own Instructor for the day, Along, who’s ‘been there, done that’!

Along is teaching our international client Serena’s PADI Open Water Diver course, and Jamri is joining the first day of the course as a refresher for himself, because it’s been a while since his last dive experience.

Jamri is certified as PADI Rescue Diver, and he will be continuing his diver education to qualify as a PADI Divemaster and eventually PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor (OWSI)!

He’s fortunate to learn from his Instructor Along, as they work alongside one another too, because Along has also experienced climbing PADI’s system of diver education up to OWSI level.

Lots of experience is required to improve diver ability, and Along reminds both his students that they should refresh their skills in SCUBA if they have had a lengthy hiatus, before they dive in open water environments.

Serena has been reminded by our Sabah Travel Centre experts that she should do some physical preparation before climbing Mount Kinabalu, which she is planning for the following week after achieving her entry-level diver certification.
