I just finished a 1 month divemaster internship with Downbelow. I had such a great time overthere. I finished all the exams and practical assigments after about 2 weeks which let me heaps of time for real work experience. They put you in real work situations such as assisting DSD, open water and guiding…..All the staff is so friendly on the island. After a couple of days, you feel like you know everybody already. The scenery is beautiful and I never got tired of looking at the view on the island. Usually I’m an ‘island’ person but this time I really appreciated spending days on the island diving and then heading back to he city every night. Kota Kinabalu is a great city with so much choice when it comes to food. It’s nice to have both ‘island’ during the day and city in the evenings with everything that you might need. I also really appreciated having my own room in the same hotel than the other trainees. It was great for socializing…..and knocking on someone’s door when you have ‘physics’ questions before the exam : ) The hotel I was staying was nice and clean. My room was quite big with air con and I had everything I needed.
I had a great experience and I would recommand it to anyone who is searching for a very professional training in a friendly environnement. Thanks for the experience guys!!
