PADI Staff Instructor

PADI Instructors learn valuable lessons from other seasoned PADI Instructors as they impart their experience and knowledge.

Continuing your education, as you know, never ends.

As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor, your title denotes your seniority in PADI diver education and our dedicated Downbelow Go PRO Instructor Development Team led by Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann (Instructor Trainers themselves) will guide you through the course to your eventual success.

During Instructor Development Courses (IDC’s), PADI Staff Instructors work alongside and assisting PADI Course Directors, in a similar way to that of a certified assistant (PADI Divemasters and Assistant Instructors) for a PADI Instructor. A PADI IDC Staff Instructors role can be organising, evaluating and presenting any number of components with the IDC course.

The role of a PADI IDC Staff Instructor during an Instructor Development Course (IDC) is to assist in training candidates attending the PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC), while at the same time expanding their own instructor training abilities.

The PADI IDC Staff Instructor Course

The course begins just a few days before the PADI IDC Course where our PADI Course Director will conduct training modules and presentations that will teach you your role as a PADI IDC Staff Instructor. As a PADI IDC Staff Instructor candidate you are required to have your own PADI Course Director Manual along with the normal teaching materials for a PADI Instructor.

Once you have successfully completed the training modules you will attend and take part in our PADI IDC where, under the supervision and guidance of our PADI Course Director you will be presenting PADI IDC presentations to the IDC candidates. You will also be developing your skills in evaluating candidates knowledge, confined water and open water scenarios.

Once you have successfully completed the PADI Staff Instructor course you are also qualified to teach the PADI Assistant Instructor course.

We offer a 2-week internship program for PADI IDC Staff Instructor candidates which provides valuable experience for candidates to be involved in the operation of our activities. No doubt our local diving practices might have distinct differences to that of previous dive operations you have experienced which all benefit your scuba diving career. Another attractive benefit of our internship is the UNLIMITED scuba diving you can take advantage of whilst with us. We dive 3 times a day – everyday.
