The accommodation we provide to our Go PRO diving interns is located in Kota Kinabalu city centre and amenities are conveniently within walking distance.
All rooms in the 4-storey lodge accommodation are private, with air conditioning, private toilet and shower, satellite television, mini fridge and wifi. Upon request and availability, a hair dryer and iron can be provided.
The city centre is simple to find your way around on foot and public transport is very cheap.
Food and beverage is so cheap, a meal can be as little as US$3. For this reason there is no kitchen facility at the lodge since it’s cheaper to eat out! You will be spoilt for choice with the variety of cuisines to choose from.
The numerous restaurants, kedai kopi’s (coffee shops), and hotels are available anywhere in the city, and at any time.
Nightlife is lively with venues hosting live bands, karaoke and the many traditional festivals of Malaysia’s culture is celebrated in various places throughout Sabah.
Shopping can include anything from bargains at market stalls to luxury boutiques.
Kota Kinabalu is in close range to other towns and districts of Sabah for other activities. There is also plenty to experience aside from diving. Sabah is a melting pot for wildlife and adventure lovers with everything from summiting one of the highest mountain peaks in South East Asia to white water river rafting , jungle trekking and wildlife safaris.
Kota Kinabalu International airport is located just 7km outside the city centre.
On arrival in Kota Kinabalu you will need to purchase a prepaid taxi coupon; a taxi ride to the city costs roughly US$ 12.00, and after midnight there is a surcharge applied. Buses frequently run between the city and airport and cost about US$1.00 per way.
