To look the part of a PADI professional may not be so simple as adhering to PADI standards because typically scuba diving isn’t ‘materialistic’, but professional divers need to project an image!
An image of a professional, which is the expectation of a diving client before they’ve even meet a professional diver, is smartly dressed, happy demeanour and good general health. The total opposite won’t encourage a possible client to be taught by a ‘professional’ who doesn’t care for their image, and image really does so much benefit!
PADI, as a dive training organisation, is such a successful empire because of efforts to shape their professional public image to the world and gain their target audiences’ trust.
On Go PRO internship programs, candidates are reminded by their mentors of the Go PRO team that the whole Instructor team will assess and counsel their skills in dive leadership. Knowing their diving judgments are always evaluated, because they are always under the direct supervision of one of our PADI Instructors, Jed and Amy do their best to maintain their professional image always. They look the part for sure – loading/unloading tanks from our leisure dive boat!
