How to go about planning a Go PRO career? It’s a lot like planning a deep dive! What to think about: both short term and long term goals, skills and capabilities, health and fitness, are just amongst a few of the aspects of planning both a deep dive and a professional career path!
A few of our Go PRO internship candidates of the recent January/February PADI Instructor Development Course (IDC) at Downbelow Marine and Wildlife Adventures have enrolled on a further internship program to gain their PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) rating.
One of their chosen PADI Specialty Instructor courses is the PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor. When planning each of the four deep dives, the performance requirement for each dive needed to be taken into account to maximise efficient use of the limited dive time. Knowing, at 30m (according to the recreational dive planner) allows a diver to dive for no more than 20 minutes, our candidates need to plan for their dive skills to be completed within that time to achieve their goal of certifying as a PADI Deep Diver Specialty Instructor! To be as successful as they have planning their own deep dives (under the watchful eye of their mentor, our resident Platinum PADI Course Director Richard Swann), the candidates will plan their professional career with the same attention to detail!
Now that the formal requirements of the MSDT is complete, some planning of a different adventure in Sabah to relax and rewind from the past month of professional diver training is needed! Climbing Mount Kinabalu needs some preparation, but first thing is: get in touch with our Sabah Travel Centre to discuss what your goals are! Mesilau trail or summit trail? A 2 days 1 night package, or 3 days 2 nights? Attempt the worlds’ highest via Ferrata?
