Snorkeling is equally as challenging as diving is to supervise!

Posted 01 Jul 2014

By PADI Standards, the PADI Discover Snorkeling program offers no pre-requisites to participate, and no ratio of how many participants can follow one snorkeling guide!

Good judgment is called upon in situations when conducting the snorkeling activity for large groups.

What that means, is to decide on the ratio based on previous experience. If the surface were a bit choppy due to windy weather, an experienced guide would err on the side of caution even more so. The weather may be perfect, but the group of snorkelers might include young children and the ratio could be set to be even more conservative.

There are varying factors that influence a professionals’ good judgment, and during our professional internship programs, our internship candidates are expected to exhibit a level of professionalism through their good judgment.

Our Go PRO team of PADI Instructor Trainers oversees the progress of all our internship programs conducted at our premier PADI 5 Star IDC beach house on Gaya Island. The full time Go PRO team is highly experienced and dedicated to advise interns on their conduct, which is based on their own numerous experiences in the dive industry.
